Kong Frederik d. X’s Honnørmarch is available from 26th of May 2025 in two editions: for Wind Band and for Piano.

The march has been composed by David M.A.P. Palmquist in close collaboration with HM King Frederik and is set to be premiered on the King’s birthday (26th of May 2025). The march will be played by The Band of The Royal Danish Life Guards (Den Kongelige Livgardes Musikkorps) during the ceremonial Changing of the Guard at 12 noon.

David M.A.P. Palmquist was chosen to write His Majesty’s new march, following a composition competition in early 2025. David M.A.P. Palmquist have previously composed similar military music, among these titles “Dronning Marys Honnørmarch” and “Prinsesse Benediktes March”. He was also Director of Music for Den Kongelige Livgardes Musikkorps (The Band of the Royal Danish Life Guard) 2016-22.

The composition process has now finished only days before the king’s birthday, and Edition Cornon are excited to offer the first edition of this work already now. Editions for other orchestral types and formats will follow soon.

This first edition are scored for full wind band and offers a score [A3 format] and parts [A4 format], all digital as downloads from our webshop. The edition for piano is digital as well [A4 format].
